Christ Church, where George Washington went to worship

Founded in 1695, the building began on the current structure in 1727. The bells were brought from England in 1754. Among the noted persons buried here are James Wilson and Robert Morris, signers of the Declaration of Independence. The burial grounds are not located at this site, but rather across from the Mint and the National Constitution Center.
