Uss IntrepidWhen you step onto this floating museum, you really step back into history. Located on the Hudson River front in Manhattan, this is a must see for any visitors to the area. Some of the displays depict the events of September 11, 2001 and show the heroics of the firefighters who answered the call. You can tour the command and control center, the hanger bays, and many other areas of the carrier at your leisure. Some passageways are narrow, and the ladders are steep, so care must be taken to ensure you are able to climb and maneuver through the ship to see the more remote sights. The main areas are wide open, and offer plenty to do and see. Next to the carrier is an era submarine, and a Concord that can also be toured. This exhibit makes a great day trip for anyone wanting to see the sights. |
