Washington Crossing ReEnactment

As with the previous two years celebrations, this year's re-enactment did not include an actual crossing. Thursday's storm produced enough run-off to swell the river to three times it's normal capacity, making the current too swift to safely cross.

The below freezing temperatures, and swift current caused those who attended to appreciate the challenges the army faced. One big difference, they couldn't cross on the bridge.

Jim Gibson of Fallsington, Pennsylvania, played to part of General Washington. This was his third year in the role, which he gets to keep until he successfully crosses with his troops.
